Last year Howe Trinity Church put
forward plans to replace the then existing church hall. This was possibly the
most exciting and visionary project our congregation has ever taken up and the
local community were invited to become involved. |
|
Why did we need a new hall? |
|
|
Although the previous hall had given excellent service
down the years, it was built at minimum cost 45 years ago, and was reaching the
end of it's useful life
The previous hall was barely large enough for some present users, and was too
large for others
The kitchen and toilet facilities of the previous hall required significant
upgrading
There was no disabled access to the previous hall
A new hall with extra rooms and facilities would allow us both to develop the
work of the church and also provide accommodation for groups from the wider
community |
|
CURRENT
SITUATION
Work on a new replacement hall
is now complete. The old hall, built in 1963, and which gave great service over
the years, and church vestry have been demolished, and have been replaced with
a suite of rooms on two levels which integrates with the church. On the upper
level, the accommodation consists of the main hall, seating up to 190 people, a
lounge, a meeting room and a fully equipped kitchen. At the lower level there
is a new vestry, a church office and gathering space, with a platform lift to
assist those who cannot manage the stairs. There is also a state of the art
audio/video system linking both church and hall.
The wonderful success of the
shop, along with the sale of the Hall and Stables at Keig, and various grants
and donations, means that the development fund will currently finance more than
two-thirds the estimated costs. The remaining costs will be met by a loan from
the Church of Scotland secured against the future income of the
shop.

All support by members and
friends of Howe Trinity to provide further funding would help ensure continued
financial security for Howe Trinity Parish Church. |
Your direct gift is of course the most effective way of
supporting this cause, especially if it is "Gift Aided"
If you would like to make an
interest free loan, this can be repaid over a timescale to suit you (maximum 5
years) through the income of the Howe Trinity Shop |
